Crathes Castle & Gardens
Crathes Castle is the seat of the ancient family of Burnett of Leys. It is of special interest because of its painted ceilings and fine furniture, and for the ancient Horn of Leys which was gifted to the Leys Family by Robert the Bruce. The old tower house, which forms the nucleus of the castle, is one of the finest specimens of Scottish baronial architecture..
From the low level Old Deeside Line which follows the route of the Old Deeside Railway Line, to more strenuous walks including the wonderful Glen Dye Walk to Clachnaben Summit.
Banchory has a lovely 9-hole course plus a driving range at Inchmarlo and a challenging 18-hole at Banchory Golf Club.
Take a trip to the Bridge of Feugh only a 10 minute walk from Banchory Centre. Visit Royal Desside Vintage Railway only 3 miles away.
